Monash BDI Welcomes 18 New Group Leaders in 2025
The Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute (BDI) is delighted to announce the appointment of 18 new Group Leaders in 2025. This milestone reflects the Institute’s ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of research leaders and supporting early career researchers (ECRs) as they transition from senior postdoctoral roles to independent lab heads.
The Group Leader program provides formal recognition and career momentum for researchers who are leading innovative, high-impact research and establishing their own scientific identities.
Professor Dena Lyras, Deputy Director of Monash BDI, congratulated the cohort.
“I extend my warmest congratulations to our newly appointed Group Leaders,” Professor Lyras said.
“Their selection is a testament to their scientific excellence, leadership potential and dedication to advancing biomedical research. We are excited to support their journey and look forward to the discoveries they will make.”
These appointments highlight Monash BDI’s vibrant research culture and its role as one of Australia’s largest biomedical research institutes, home to more than 120 research teams working to address global health challenges.
