This month, Monash is celebrating those who have committed 25 or more years of service to the university. The Monash Service Awards, held on Tuesday 9 October, recognised the loyalty, commitment and achievements that have occurred over the span of at least a quarter of a century.

Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute’s (BDI) Professor Dena Lyras, Associate Professor Mark Prescott, Associate Professor Yvonne Hodgson and Dr Ruby Law were each recognised for their 25 years of service.

Professor Carroll, Director of the Monash BDI, recognised the contribution of these four long-standing members of the Monash BDI.

“Dena, Mark, Yvonne and Ruby make up part of the heart of the Monash BDI and biomedical sciences at Monash. Their contributions and dedication over the years are to be applauded. On behalf of the Monash BDI, and the university as a whole, I want to thank each of them for their service,” Professor Carroll said.

In just a few decades, Monash University has evolved and transformed from one small suburban campus to one of the largest and most influential universities in Australia.

Furthermore, Monash is truly international, with a presence spanning four continents. It’s significant to acknowledge those staff who have been present to witness–and contribute to–some of the most defining moments of that transformation.

The Service Awards are an opportunity to recognise the story of Monash, and it’s built on the significant contribution of such dedicated staff members.

Well done to our Service Award recipients, and to everyone who was acknowledged for their service.
