MPGPCR 2026
About the Conference
In 2026, we will see the 12th iteration of the Molecular Pharmacology of G Protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) meeting held jointly with the long-standing IUPHAR World Congress of Pharmacology satellite meeting: Pharmacology of GPCRs (formerly named Pharmacology of Adrenoceptors Symposium). At this joint satellite meeting, key presentations from leading international researchers will showcase new molecular insights, the latest tools and technologies that are changing our understanding of GPCR function, and translation of basic research into the clinic.
The meeting provides a relaxed interface between students, postdoctoral fellows, academic and industrial scientists from around the globe, encouraging interaction, collaboration and debate on the latest research. This is a focused and intimate meeting, emphasising novel concepts in GPCR pharmacology and drug discovery encompassing structural biology and biophysical studies, receptor pharmacology (ligand bias and allostery), chemical biology, cell signalling and systems biology. We look forward to welcoming you to Melbourne to share your science!
Conference dates: 9-11 July 2026
Location: Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Monash University, Parkville Campus

Three prizes are available to recognise outstanding presentations by junior researchers.
Best student oral prize
Selected abstracts submitted by students (Honours, Masters or PhD) will be shortlisted to present in the student oral prize session. Presentations will be 10 minutes each followed by 5-minute Q&A. The best presentation will receive an award.
Best student poster presentation
All abstracts submitted by students (Honours, Masters or PhD) will be eligible for the best poster presentation prize. Judging will occur at designated sessions throughout the meeting, and will consist of a 3-minute presentation followed by ~2-minute Q&A.
Best postdoctoral trainee poster presentation
Postdoctoral trainees, <10-years post-PhD, are eligible for consideration and should nominate for the award when submitting an abstract. Judging will occur at designated sessions throughout the meeting, and will consist of a 3-minute presentation followed by ~2-minute Q&A.

Please refer to our sponsorship and exhibitor prospectus.

Photography and media policy
MPGPCR encourages the dissemination of unpublished research. Audio, still photo and video recording by any device (e.g., cameras, laptops, PDAs, cell phones, watches) is strictly prohibited during scientific sessions, unless in certain circumstances when prior permission must be obtained from MPGPCR. Photographs should not be taken of posters and/or slides without the express permission of the presenter/author. Participants may be photographed during networking events including poster sessions for the purposes of promoting MPGPCR or sponsors on social media. We request that the details of unpublished research shared by presenters are not shared via social media platforms.
Harassment policy
MPGPCR is dedicated to providing a friendly, safe and inspiring conference experience for everyone involved. Every individual at our meeting and associated social events (including attendees, volunteers and staff) has the right to feel safe and respected at all times. We do not tolerate harassment or bullying in any form.
Harassment is defined as unwelcome and offensive comments or behaviour directed to the participant's sex, race, colour, national origin, religion, sexual orientation or gender identity, disability, or other status protected under applicable law. Harassment can include, but is not limited to: unwelcome attention, comments or jokes that focus on gender differences or sexual topics and that distract from the professional topics under discussion, unwelcome advances or requests for dates or sexual activities, and the use of language or images (including presentation slides) that demean or degrade persons of particular gender, racial, ethnic, religious or national identity.
We expect all participants to support these values, exercise consideration and respect in your speech and actions, and avoid harassment of other participants. We expect all participants to assist in ensuring MPGPCR and associated events are free from harassment. Anyone who has experienced, or witnessed, harassment should notify a member of the organising committee as soon as possible, mpgpcr.conference@monash.edu.
Individuals associated with MPGPCR who engage in inappropriate behaviour that contravenes this policy may be warned, or removed from the session/event, or excluded from participating in future MPGPCR meetings.
The Organising Committee of the 12th Pharmacology of GPCRs & MPGPCR Satellite Meeting is committed to delivering a conference that minimises environmental impact while maintaining an outstanding scientific experience.
Scientific meetings are invaluable for sharing discoveries and building collaborations, but they also consume resources. This year, we have taken practical steps to reduce waste, support responsible procurement and encourage sustainable choices throughout the meeting.
What we're doing
To reduce the environmental footprint of the conference, we have:
- Gone digital by providing the conference programme, abstracts and poster judging through the conference app, eliminating the need for printed programmes and judging sheets.
- Included only a mini programme on your name badge for quick reference.
- Prioritised the reuse of existing conference materials, such as poster board numbers and event signage, to reduce resource consumption and unnecessary waste.
- Provided every delegate with a reusable drink bottle, with water refill stations available throughout the venue instead of single-use bottled water.
- Implemented a badge and lanyard recycling programme at the conclusion of the meeting.
- Chosen catering with sustainability in mind, including 60% vegetarian and 40% meat options.
- Partnered with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) to cater the morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas on Thursday and Friday. Through its social enterprise, the ASRC creates pathways to employment for people seeking asylum by providing training, mentoring and paid work through its catering and event services.
How you can help
We invite all delegates to join us in making this meeting as sustainable as possible by:
- Bringing your reusable drink bottle to each session.
- Returning your name badge and lanyard before you leave.
- Recycling responsibly using the bins provided.
- Walking or using public transport where possible.
- Accessing conference information through the app rather than printing materials.
- Minimising food waste by taking only what you will eat.
Together, these small actions can make a meaningful difference. Thank you for helping us create a more sustainable conference.
