Our lab

Where we are

Creek lab in laboratory

Our laboratory is co-located with the Drug Target Identification node of the Monash Proteomics and Metabolomics Platform, providing direct access to high resolution (Orbitrap Astral) LC-MS for metabolomics, lipidomics and proteomics studies. We enjoy developing and adopting cutting-edge omics-based methods including:

  • Stable-isotope tracing
  • Label-free target identification with solvent proteome profiling or limited proteolysis
  • Protein or metabolite tagging and pull-downs (chemical biology)
  • Interactomics with chemical cross-linking
  • Native protein MS
  • Spatial metabolomics (MALDI/SALDI)
  • Targeted metabolomics for challenging metabolite classes/pathways

Our cell culture laboratory specializes in parasite culturing and routinely conducts a comprehensive range of parasitology assays, including but not limited to:

  • Drug sensitivity testing
  • Resistance selection protocols
  • Drug pulse sensitivity assays
  • Synchronisation of parasite life cycles
  • The preparation of parasite pellets for downstream proteomic and metabolomic analyses
