Drug discovery targeting GPCRs for mental health and dementia
G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are proteins located on the cell membranes that transmit neurotransmitter signals across brain cell membranes. We are interested in how ligands interacting with sites distinct from the primary endogenous neurotransmitter (allosteric ligands) modulate receptor activity at the atomic scale through to in vivo effects. Our research focuses on neuropsychiatric and neurological disorders.
We are interested in advancing smarter and more efficient drug discovery efforts including exploring sustainable lab practices and are currently working towards our Green Lab Certification.
