Trigonometry is a branch of mathematics that investigates the relationship between the sides and angles of a triangle. It can be used to solve many practical problems including heights of trees, widths of rivers, navigation and bearings, angles of elevation or depression and the area of irregular shapes. Commonly trigonometry is associated with right angled triangles, however applications of trigonometry can be applied to non-right angle triangles through the Sine and Cosine rules.
