About us
Our researchers use cutting-edge technologies to investigate development before and following birth, stem cell biology, developmental origins of adult disease, cancer and human evolution. We are nationally recognised for our developmental biology curriculum and innovations in anatomy teaching.

We are dedicated to providing outstanding education and use innovative teaching approaches. Our major in Developmental Biology within the Bachelor of Science degree - and the Centre for Human Anatomy Education - are unique in Australia.
Department research
Our expertise extends from the genetic and molecular regulation of embryo and fetal development, to stem cell patterning, the anatomy of the adult body and human evolution.
Our people
Our teaching innovations, research focus and success, and excellent facilities have seen the department grow rapidly in recent years. Currently, more than 200 staff, PhD students and Honours students call the Department of Anatomy and Developmental Biology home.

The centre supports and oversees human anatomy education across the University, ensuring our curriculum and teaching is of the highest global standard.
