First clinical trials of possible new treatment for Clostridium Infection

Dr Melanie HuttonThe first clinical trials of Immuron's IMM-529, for treatment of Clostridium difficile infection(CDI), has garnered significant international media coverage. Monash BDI's Professor Dena Lyras and Dr Melanie Hutton were instrumental in Immuron's decision to develop a treatment for this deadly infection. CDI is spreading rapidly because of the increasing use of antibiotics. This clinical trial will be conducted at the Hadassah Medical Centre in Israel, involving 60 patients.
