Our Projects

Inclusive Language Technologies: Data Curation and Large Pretrained Language Models

Project Leader: Dr. Derry Wijaya

This initiative will lay the groundwork for an organised effort to digitise numerous unlabelled resources, enabling the training of language models and technologies for diverse languages. The outcomes will promote multilingualism and linguistic diversity. In collaboration with the Vision and Language Group at Monash University, Australia, our team of researchers will collect and build a comprehensive collection of Indonesian (digital) language data in text, speech, and image form. Subsequently, language models will be trained on this data.

Inclusive Financial Services: Widening Access to Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Lending

Project Leader: Dr. Arif Perdana

Our objective in this project is to assist fin-tech credit institutions in enhancing their credit risk modelling. The research outcomes have the potential to positively impact marginalised consumers' access to credit, empowering them to improve their livelihoods. Through this initiative, we explore the significant role of sociodemographic characteristics, economic conditions, technological opportunities, and network effects in driving financial inclusion. By understanding these factors, fintech lending institutions can develop their services and bridge the financial gap through technological implementation.
