Our goal:

To develop novel medicines which are safer, and have superior efficacy to treat a range of life-threatening cardiopulmonary diseases.

Knowledge gap:

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide, and aberrant and dysregulated inflammatory mechanisms have been revealed as central contributors to disease pathogenesis. Hence, targeting the resolution of inflammation therapeutically represents an innovative approach to treat cardiopulmonary diseases.

Our approach:

The Cardiovascular Pharmacology Laboratory is developing pro-resolving medicines to help address the current deficit in adequate treatment strategies, thereby improving the quality and length of life for patients suffering with chronic cardiopulmonary diseases.
