How to get your M-Pass

What is M-Pass?

M-Pass is your official Monash student ID card. It gives you access to Monash University, Indonesia facilities (and student perks), and you’ll use it throughout your degree. Follow the steps below to get your M-Pass.

Step 1: Take a selfie using VerifyMe

Before you can set up your M-Pass, you’ll need to take a selfie (and verify your identity) using VerifyMe – you only have to do this once.

Do this step before classes begin so you can receive your physical M-Pass card as soon as possible.

To take a selfie for your M-Pass:

  1. Log into VerifyMe.
  2. Follow the prompts:
    1. Verify your identity by uploading a photo/ scanned document of your ID (KTP/ National ID Card, or identity page of your passport).
    2. Take a selfie for your M-Pass (see photo guidelines below).

You can’t upload or take a photo of a pre-prepared image, so make sure you’re ready to take a selfie for your M-Pass before you start the process. In most cases, you won’t be able to change your M-Pass photo once it’s been taken through VerifyMe.

Photo guidelines

You'll need to take a selfie for your M-Pass on the spot, so make sure:

  • you're not wearing anything that covers your face (e.g. headphones, hat, sunglasses)
  • there's no shadow or reflections on your face, glass reflection, or red eye
  • you use a plain, light-coloured background.

Step 2: Confirm your selfie has been approved

VerifyMe will automatically check your selfie against your ID, then you’ll receive an email letting you know your photo has been approved.

Step 3: Pick up your M-Pass card when it’s ready

We’ll email you once your M-Pass card is ready to pick up on campus. If you take (and verify) your selfie by the first day of classes, it will be ready for pick up in the first month or so of your teaching period.
