Joshua Hurwitz
Dr Joshua Hurwitz, MBBS, MPHTM, FRACP, is a medical oncologist with a special interest in breast and genitourinary cancers, and a passion for clinical trials and education. He graduated from James Cook University and has a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
Josh completed his oncology training in the Southwest Sydney Local Health District and St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. He undertook further specialisation in breast and genitourinary cancer with the prestigious fellowship at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and the Kinghorn Cancer Centre in Sydney, Australia, under the mentorship of Professor Elgene Lim and Professor Anthony Joshua. In 2023, he was admitted as a fellow to the Royal Australian College of Physicians.
Josh’s medical expertise spans 15 years in the Australian healthcare system, during which he has worked in three states at prestigious institutions such as the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Monash Health, and Barwon Health. His international exposure includes an observership at the Dana-Farber Cancer Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Josh’s guiding principles for oncological care come from an evidence-based approach that utilizes the latest trials, technology and innovations to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to every patient. He is the co-host of the internationally acclaimed podcast “Oncology for the Inquisitive Mind” which has an audience that that spans 150 countries.
