Marion Harris

A/Prof Marion Harris brings dual expertise as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in both Medical Oncology and Cancer Genetics. Her clinical focus is on breast and gastrointestinal malignancies, with additional responsibility as Director of the Familial Cancer Centre at Monash Health.

Harris’s research portfolio includes MD studies at the Ludwig Institute of Cancer Research, focusing on immunotherapy for renal cell carcinoma, and clinical research into pancreatic cancer and familial cancer syndromes. One of her most significant professional achievements was serving as a co-author of the MPACT study for metastatic pancreatic cancer, which led to a global shift in standard treatment for this disease and was published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

As an influential research leader within AGITG and as a site investigator on key studies (such as the DYNAMIC colon study), she contributes to the implementation of liquid biopsies (ctDNA) and personalised medicine in GI oncology. Her career reflects an enduring commitment to both advancing the science of cancer treatment and mentoring future oncology practitioners.
