This award recognises and rewards individuals and teams who have made an outstanding contribution to the Faculty.
The nominees are:

Michelle plays a critical role in providing considered advice and guidance to the Head of School, School Manager and the School’s Executive Group. She invests her time and effort to deliver exceptional outcomes for the School with benefits and learnings that often have positive impacts. Michelle shows innovation in delivering beyond the scope of her role and fosters a positive health, safety, and wellbeing culture that is continuously improving, as well as displaying best practices with the University.

Antonio (Nino) has an exceptional level of professionalism, with the focus and commitment to support the School’s critical research infrastructure. Nino has also taken on general facility responsibilities and ensures all identified OHS issues are resolved, as well as scheduling necessary maintenance and providing support to regular facility users.

Steven recently coordinated the Faculty of Science PhD Raw Podcast, a podcast series that explores a range of topics that are important to our graduate research community through conversations and connections. Steven often volunteers to support multiple activities and takes on extra-curricular roles at every level of the University.

Rebecca has contributed new ways to deliver productive science, careful approaches to the implementation of safety and quarantine compliance, and helped develop a culture of excellent, timely, and innovative professional service through a culture of continual improvement of processes. She has fostered productive collaboration founded on a combination of discipline skill, team insight, and affability in a way that delivers excellence in a respectful, appreciative, and collaborative atmosphere.

Anna supports 137 graduate students with exceptional care, offering both administrative and personal assistance. She has recently demonstrated leadership in implementing UniCRM for the School, streamlining processes, and improving student experiences. Additionally, she volunteers to assist the School of Physics and Astronomy when needed.
Nga Dang-Lien, Christa Meek, and Mary Angelopoulos

The team provides exception service to the Genetics and Genomics undergraduate and Genome Analytics Master students and the academic staff that coordinate these units. Over the past four years, the team has eased the burden of the transition to online teaching during COVID and more recently the transition to Moodle. They are on the frontlines of all interactions with students, supporting their learning and forming lasting and meaningful connections.

The SAEF Program team has worked together for the past three years. Their contributions have benefitted the Faculty of Science through SAEF participants in the School of Biological Sciences and the School of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment. The team plays a crucial role in SAEF’s reputation as an excellent, efficient, and welcoming research program, enhancing the Faculty’s standing and alignment with the University’s strategic goals.
