AI and Science
Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence and Bachelor of Science
The Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence and Bachelor of Science double degree provides an integrated program of study combining professional education in artificial intelligence with a broad and flexible scientific training. The course is designed to equip graduates with both the technical capability to develop and deploy AI-enabled systems and the scientific knowledge and transferable skills required to apply these technologies across diverse domains.
- Applied artificial intelligence
- Artificial intelligence algorithms and models.
AI specialist studies deepen capabilities in major areas of contemporary AI practice and advanced topics. You have the option to choose from one of two artificial intelligence specialisations and up to two of 30 science areas (e.g. one major and one minor, or one extended major).
You could combine applied artificial intelligence with ecology and conservation biology to use artificial intelligence and data-driven approaches to understand ecosystems and support conservation efforts. Or combine artificial intelligence algorithms and models with mathematics to develop advanced skills in mathematical modelling and machine learning.
Additional course information:
As part of your artificial intelligence component, you have the opportunity to complete either artificial intelligence in practice project units or an Industry-based Learning placement.

Pathways
Applicants will require a minimum 60% average to be considered for selection. Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements of the course with their previous Year 12 (or equivalent) qualification must complete at least one academic year (equivalent to eight Monash units) of university study. Preference will be given to applicants whose prior studies are related to the course. Any science-based studies used to meet the prerequisite for admission must have been completed within five years of intended commencement. All applicants must satisfy the equivalence of the VCE subject prerequisites demonstrating the required level of performance.
