Climate Conversations: From Science to Solutions in the Energy Transition
On 3 December 2025, the Hub held the next event in its Climate Conversations series—a forum for examining the scientific challenges of climate change and the innovations that can drive meaningful solutions.
The session tackled a central question in the global pathway toward a net-zero economy:
What emerging scientific advances have the potential to transform the energy transition, and what risks or trade-offs accompany them?
Speakers explored new developments across chemistry, physics, and the biological sciences, highlighting their promise, and discussing the environmental considerations of both current and future solutions.
Speakers and panellists included:
- Chris Vale — Director of the Quantum Technologies Future Science Platform, CSIRO
- Meera Parish — School of Physics and Astronomy, Monash University
- Karolina Matuszek — School of Chemistry, Monash University
- Rohan Clarke — School of Biological Sciences, Monash University
