The evolution of fishes and fishery yield in the anthropocene
Why do animals grow at the rate they do, why do they reproduce when they do, and why do they stop growing when they do?
On 21 April 2026, the seminar explored how fishes will evolve in response to warming waters, and what that means for the future of sustainable fisheries. Using evolutionary theory and data, the speakers showed why accounting for evolution is critical to accurately projecting future fishery yields under climate change scenarios.
