Why did you decide to do a Masters/PhD in your topic?
Evolution is fascinating.
What made you choose Monash Science in particular?
Professor Bowman is leading the research in land plant evolution. This lab was my first choice.
What's your favourite aspect of being a PhD student?
Freedom to ponder about how the world has evolved.
What do you plan to do when you graduate?
Engage in research and hopefully contribute to the big picture by facilitating collaboration as a Research Scientist and Manager.
What has been the highlight of your study experience so far?
Discovering the amazing unexpected optimal condition for my plant through some fun and random experiments.
What's the biggest misconception you had about studying a masters/PhD?
That one needs to understand and know about everybody's research in the school or department or University to be actually calling themselves researchers.
If you were to give some advice to someone who's thinking about studying a PhD at Monash Science, what would you say?
Find the topic of interest and explore and engage in wanderlust thoughts about Life and its existence.
Give us a life hack or piece of advice you live by:
Life is an amazing experience and you don't have to excel at "Life", you just have to feel it, live it and experience it. What you are living right now is also life so take a moment and smile and absorb.
What is an interesting fact about yourself?
I can make silly jokes anytime, all the time and I can't stop laughing at them.
