Adithya Balasubramanian

Dr Adithya (Adi) Balasubramanian is a medical oncologist and clinician-scientist with appointments at Monash Health, Cabrini Health, and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. His principal area of clinical interest is in thoracic cancers, particularly lung malignancies, and he is actively engaged in designing and delivering early- and late-phase clinical trials in this domain.

Dr Balasubramanian is recognised for incorporating cutting-edge research into his clinical practice; his PhD research at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute utilised CRISPR-Cas9 technology to identify immunotherapeutic targets in solid tumours. In 2023, he was awarded a research fellowship to continue this work at the Wellcome Sanger Institute and University of Cambridge. His work is published in leading academic journals, including The Lancet Oncology, Cancer Cell, Clinical Cancer Research, and Journal of Thoracic Oncology. He has received international recognition through competitive grants and research awards.

Dr Balasubramanian's clinical approach is focused on combining patient-centred care and delivering evidence-based treatment. He consistently integrates research advances into clinical care, with the ultimate goal of enhancing patient outcomes.
