David Pook
A/Prof David Pook, MBBS, BMedSci (Hons1), MD, FRACP, boasts significant expertise in genitourinary oncology, particularly the treatment of prostate, kidney, bladder, and testicular cancers. He serves as the Principal Investigator for numerous international clinical trials that explore novel therapies and immune-based strategies to address urologic malignancies.
As a clinical research fellow attached to the Prostate Cancer Research Group at Monash University, Dr Pook advances research into prostate cancer models that support the development and evaluation of innovative treatments. His leadership extends into national academic circles, where he serves as Deputy Chair of the Kidney Cancer Subcommittee of the Australia and New Zealand Urological and Prostate Cancer Trials Group (ANZUP).
A/Prof Pook is recognised for extensive publication in high-impact journals, recent prominent projects, and leadership on adaptive and phase 3 studies aimed at improving outcomes for patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer and metastatic urothelial carcinoma. His work is at the forefront of translational cancer research, bridging laboratory advances to patient care, and plays a central role in coordinating and recruiting to major urological cancer clinical trials nationally.
