Zahra Sabouri-Thompson
Dr Zahra Sabouri-Thompson is a Post Doctoral Research Fellow at the Blood Cancer Research Therapeutics Laboratory at Monash University and holds an honorary appointment at the Haematology Department, Monash Health. Under the mentorship of A/Prof Jake Shortt, her research is focused on studying the effect of anti-cancer drugs on haematological malignancies namely lymphoma and multiple myeloma. Her research is supported by the Bode Multiple Myeloma Foundation. She was also awarded a Victorian Cancer Agency (VCA) Early Career Seed Fellowship-2018-2020.
Dr Sabouri-Thompson completed her Medical Degree in 2004 in Mashhad and a PhD in Immunogenomics in 2014 at the Australian National University (ANU), Canberra. Prior to her PhD, she spent two years in Japan as a visiting fellow at Kyoto University, Faculty of Medicine, where she studied Molecular Immunology under the supervision of Nobel Laureate Professor Tasuko Honjo.
