Clinical Registries and Real-World Data
Clinical Registries and Real-World Data
We are Australia’s leading centre for the development and management of Clinical Quality Registries and large population datasets. We power over 40 registries that ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality care through robust data collection and analysis.
Our expertise in capturing and interpreting complex clinical and real-world data enables rapid identification of unwarranted variation to safeguard patients, drives quality innovation and enables priority-driven research to be embedded into routine clinical practice.
Our focus areas
Research units
Cancer Research
We operate a number of registries that play a critical role in benchmarking and driving quality of care for people with prostate, lung, upper gastrointestinal, gynaecological cancers, and melanoma.
Head of Unit
Centre of Cardiovascular Research and Education in Therapeutics
We maintain state and national clinical registries that inform the quality and safety of cardiac care, and support the use of real-world evidence methods to investigate pharmacotherapeutics in cardiovascular disease.
Co-Directors
Clinical Outcomes Data Reporting and Research
A multidisciplinary team with deep expertise across the lifespan of Clinical Quality Registries (CQR) from establishment through maturation. We both manage CQRs and provide advice and support to other registries to advance registry science nationally.
Head of Unit
Pharmacoepidemiology
We leverage national claims, electronic medical records, registry and linked datasets to investigate medicine utilisation, shortages, adherence and safety, producing robust real‑world evidence to guide clinical quality improvement, therapeutic decision‑making and health policy.
Head of Research Group
Pre-hospital, Emergency and Trauma Research
Our clinical registries monitor variance in care across a range of settings for people requiring emergency and trauma support, driving better outcomes for patients experiencing potentially life-altering medical events.
Head of Unit
Transfusion Research
We’re home to a significant portfolio of clinical registries that improve Australia’s use of scarce blood products, and ensure quality care for people with blood cancers, dysplasias, and other blood disorders, including patients with a range of rare conditions.
