Kenneth Tan

A/Prof Kenneth Tan is a consultant neonatologist in Monash Newborn, Associate Professor with the Department of Paediatrics, Monash University and honorary staff of the Hudson Institute of Medical Research.

A/Prof Tan trained at the University of Melbourne before pursuing specialist training in the United Kingdom. As Paediatrics Lecturer at the University of Leeds, he undertook research on fuzzy logic control in the NICU for which he was awarded a PhD. His research interest in engineering applications in the NICU began with collaboration with biomedical engineers at McMaster University in Canada which continues currently within the Monash Institute of Medical Engineering (MIME). He is an active member of the Australian and New Zealand Neonatal Network (ANZNN), and currently sits on the practise improvement committee which fits with his other interests of data analytics and statistical modelling for quality improvement in the NICU. He is also a collaborator on NHMRC funded multi-centre RCTs such as ProPREMS, BOOST-II and N3RO.
