Why did you decide to study science?
When I was in high school, I studied physics, chemistry and math, and I think I am fond of chemistry. After doing some research, I decided to do some research in the medicinal chemistry field.
What made you choose Monash Uni in particular?
I received plenty of offers from other Universities. To be honest, I was planning to go to Imperial College London in the UK, but I ended up in Australia due to family reason. Monash became my choice because the course I am studying fits my desire to do honours and research after graduation.
What's your favourite aspect of studying science?
I think it would be that I can always learn new things every day about the myth of the world, which I believe those commerce and arts students could not reach. Personally, I don’t particularly appreciate studying commerce, because I think they are designed to make their own fortune, but I study science for helping people in the future. I want to make more drugs in the future to save people from disease.
What has been the highlight of your science degree so far?
I think it’s a bit of touch in doing research.
If you were to give some advice to someone who's thinking about studying at Monash Science, what would you say?
Be prepared to gain new knowledge. Don’t forget your high school knowledge and you will be fine.
Give us a life hack or piece of advice you live by:
Study what you want, not what others want. And take care of yourself, don’t get sick.
