Re-enrol
Returning or Continuing study in 2025? Complete your 2025 Re-Enrolment for Coursework Students
Re-enrolment is a process where students select and enrol in units for the following academic year.
In October or November 2024, we will send you a reminder email for you to re-enrol for your study in 2025. It’s important to re-enrol for the whole year (unless applying for intermission or you are finishing your course soon). You should re-enrol as soon as possible. There is no need to wait for your results to come in before re-enrolling. When selecting units, assume you've met the prerequisite requirements for any units with outstanding results.
We understand that things may change between now and the start of your teaching period next year, so you can add, discontinue or change units later. If you are unsure which units are available for you next year in 2025, you can book a course advice session with our Student and Academic Services Team.
Who Should Re-enrol? Re-enrolment Conditions

It's important to ensure you’re always enrolled to retain your place at Monash.
- Students who commence their study in October 2024 must re-enrol for MI-Term 2 (January, 2025) until MI-Term 5 (September, 2025).
- Continuing students will need to confirm their enrolment for 2025.

Prepare to Re-enrol
Before re-enrolling, you need to check:
- Your course requirements in the Handbook from the year you started your course. See archived Handbooks for handbooks from previous years.
- Which units are available to you, using the latest Handbook.
It's your responsibility to:
- choose units that comply with your course requirements (both core and elective)
- check prerequisite and co-requisite units
- request course advice if you need help with unit selection
- re-enrol for the whole year of 2025 (Term 2 (Jan 2025), Term 3 (May 2025), Term 4 (Jul 2025), and Term 5 (Sep 2025)), unless you are planning to take an intermission, have an approved exception, or if you are due to complete your course by mid-year.
If your course permits, you may take an elective taught by another faculty.

How to Re-enrol?
To re-enrol in WES:
- Log in to WES and select your units for the entire academic year (unless you're finishing sooner or taking intermission, please enrol for the terms you will be studying for)
- Click Submit enrolment to process your unit selections
- Record your transaction number (starting with U) as proof of your enrolment. If you don't get a transaction number, you haven't enrolled correctly
- Check your student email account for confirmation of re-enrolment.
Pre-requisite Requirements and Invalid Enrolments
If your re-enrolment takes place prior to the release of results, it is assumed when you enter your 2024 unit selection that you have met all the prerequisites for your units or course.
After the results are released, be sure to check WES to change any units marked as invalid. Then, you will be able to see the schedule for your class activities (lectures, tutorials, etc) for the upcoming terms you are enrolled in using Allocate+.
Unable to enrol in WES?
If you're unable to re-enrol in WES, it might be because:
- you can't enrol in that particular unit using WES and you can reach out to ask.monashindonesia@monash.edu to ask for guidance and help you enrol.
- you may have an encumbrance (a block we've placed on your account) due to outstanding fees, fines, or missing paperwork). Clear your encumbrance so you can re-enrol on time. For more information, see encumbrances.
What happens if you fail to re-enrol?
Most students need to re-enrol to keep their place at Monash, even if they’re on intermission, applying for a course transfer or have re-enrolment conditions.
If you’re not sure if you need to re-enrol, check the re-enrolment conditions. If you don’t re-enrol, you risk losing your place in your course. If you’re not sure about studying in 2025, contact a helpful Monash team member who will get back to you.
