There are a range of pathways into the Bachelor of Science at Monash.

Students can apply to transfer from another university’s science-related degree into Monash Science.
Entry will be determined by a number of factors, including your Year 12 results, the grades achieved in your tertiary study (60% or higher), and the duration of that study.

Applicants without the required formal qualifications can be considered for admission by studying a minimum of two single (science) university units.
Upon successful completion and with a minimum average result of 60%, application can be made for entry into the Bachelor of Science provided the English language requirement and the subject prerequisite have been met.
The applicant’s complete academic record will be taken into consideration. Depending on the applicant's background, more units may be required.

ATAR of at least 60, with a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or 25 in any other English.
Upon successful completion of all units and a minimum result of 60%, admission can be made into the second year of the Bachelor of Science.

To be considered, applicants who have completed VCE or its equivalent and who are applying with a science-based diploma will require a minimum average result of at least 60%.
Applicants who have not completed VCE but have completed a science based diploma will require a minimum average results at least 70%.

Domestic students
Upon completion of an Australian Year 12, students can undertake an eight-month Diploma of Science at Monash College. The Diploma of Science offers a direct pathway into the second year of the Bachelor of Science.
International students
Students with an international secondary school qualification can undertake an eight-month Diploma of Science at Monash University, Docklands. The Diploma of Science offers a direct pathway into the second year of the Bachelor of Science.

The Monash University Foundation Year is a pre-university program that prepares students for undergraduate study.
Students must successfully complete this program with a 65% in English, a 50% in a Science subject, and an overall score of 72.5% to be eligible for the Bachelor of Science.

The Monash Advanced Preparation Program (MAPP) offers a direct, accelerated pathway into your preferred Monash University undergraduate degree. Designed for successful Year 12 graduates who narrowly miss direct undergraduate entry, this intensive 16-week program builds your academic readiness through targeted learning and personalised support.
This course is only available to international students.

The Monash Indigenous Entry Scheme provides Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students direct admission into a range of undergraduate degrees at a significantly lower ATAR. The Bachelor of Science is included (50 ATAR).
There are no special classes, extra requirements or time added to the course for students admitted under the Indigenous Entry Scheme and students will graduate with the same Monash degree as any other student.

The Monash Indigenous Access Program (MIAP) is a 6 – 12 month scholarship funded bridging program which prepares students for entry into a variety of undergraduate degrees at Monash University.
This bridging course caters for students who:
- haven't completed Year 12
- graduated on a non-ATAR pathway
- received an ATAR under 50
- are mature aged with no previous study experience
The Indigenous Non-Award Pathway (INAP) is a part-time version of the MIAP.

Any science-based studies used to meet the prerequisite for admission must have been completed within five years of intended commencement.

The Monash Bachelor of Science can be used as a pathway into many graduate courses to diversify career options.
Students can complete the Bachelor of Science and provided they meet the entry requirements, apply for graduate entry into their degree of choice. Below are a few examples of graduate courses and career options.

Engineering
The Monash Bachelor of Science can be used as a pathway into graduate Engineering at Monash. If you love science and also have an interest in engineering, keep your options open and be on track to earn both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Professional Engineering.

Medicine
The Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (MD) course is a four-year program of study designed for students who have completed their undergraduate studies and are prepared to enter professional training to become a doctor.

Pharmacy
The Graduate Entry Pharmacy program offers applicants who hold relevant science-based bachelor degrees accelerated entry into third year of the Bachelor of Pharmacy/Master of Pharmacy.

Teaching
The Master of Teaching prepares you for a rewarding career as a teacher, where you'll specialise in early childhood, primary or secondary education (or a combination).

Veterinary Medicine
You can also apply to study a Doctor or Veterinary Medicine.*

Dentistry
