Tess Lloyd started sailing at just five-years-old and always dreamed of going to an Olympic Games. As a talented young sailor, Lloyd quickly moved up the rankings and was deemed 'one to watch.' Named Female Sailer of the year in 2015 after an incredible Australian Nationals and Australian Youth Nationals, Tess set her goals high: Rio’s 2016 Olympic Games. But her Olympic debut would need to wait. Despite a successful campaign leading into the Games, a decision was made not to send a 49er FX team to Rio. Four years later, Lloyd finally got the news she had been dreaming of, when only months out from the 2020 Games original date she was announced to have made the team, for it only to be postponed due to Covid-19.
