Choreographic Exchanges, 2018, is a conversation between a series of bodily movements developed within the studio and the similarly subtle forms and movements inherent within the natural environment. The work blurs the lines between author and reciprocator of movement and between the body’s subtle blending in and emerging out of the environment.
It attempts to resist the conventional aesthetics of the artist’s classical dance background, as well as the notion of a refined, completed work. Instead the artist is interested in ongoing development over performance and utilising the natural environment to facilitate access to intuitive over choreographed movements.
