My work investigates the relationship between nature’s intrinsic patterns and the way we identify them. We become so accustomed to the shape and forms of our natural environment that we can readily recognise natural elements even when they have become abstracted and fragmented.
With the use of video editing software I have collaged and manipulated nature footage to focus on the simplicity and complexities of the patterns within the environment. The installation is comprised of a 4 channel synchronised HD video. The central film depicts a form of psychedelic, vortex path through the landscape. The flow of patterns purposely moves in and out of the realistic and digitally enhanced.
