I work predominantly with the materials of wire and wool to create organic forms used in site-specific installations. Wrapping the wire in wool leaves the harsh, masculine material contained and controlled by its polar opposite- something that is soft and comforting. With underlying tones of feminism and references to gender and women in art history, my work features colour with a particular focus on pink.
Installed in disruptive locations the forms are aggressive, demand to be noticed and force the audience to navigate around them. Drilled into the architecture of the building, the illusion they are infecting the site and moving throughout the building is given.
