‘The Consumed’ questions how the desire of the retail industry can bring transparency to its processes, through critiquing the spectacle of fashion. The design explores a subverted retail experience which exaggerates the submissive consumption that occurs within the fashion industry, bringing attention to the mechanisation within consumption and observes the result of passive obedience in the consumerist society through an immersive performance.
My investigations have been based on the qualities and effects of materiality through narrative, exploring how performative methods can craft responses and interactions within current issues and influence bodily interactions.
