Material investigations enable the exploration of the porosity between objects, bodies and spaces. By engaging with tactile and intuitive making, the artist’s body is implicated in both the form and content of the work. Architectural manipulations position the viewer within a web of tensions between objects and space. Demanding diverse ways of looking, the work comes to the viewer incrementally. This slow reveal allows the viewer to piece the work together around their own corporeal experience. As the materials physically decay over time, the remnants of the work are embedded in the sensory memory of the viewer.
