My work looks at the processes of making prints, capturing the gestures involved throughout the making and printing of a copper plate. The plate takes on these layers of information combining with the incidental markings that come through as a result of techniques and handling applied to the plate. The intent is to capture a part of the work that is usually lost or forgotten instead highlighting the creation of the work itself. The etchings, a catalogue of all these gestures involved in the process of making a print, while the monoprints capture the repetition of one gesture or process.
