My work is shaped by a fascination with sonic surroundings of the everyday world. Every environment produces different notes that are waiting to be heard, each expressing a unique texture of noise. Over the last four years I have been collecting sound, capturing a diverse range of sonic environments, some being from cities around the world. Distorting and layering these original recordings, I have altered their tone, pitch and rhythms transforming them into new compositions, which allows for the audience to hear a kind of ‘forever orchestra’ of the natural and human machinery worlds. The black structures invite the audience to walk through the space to become immersed and welcomed into a new experience of listening.
