For educators
COHPE lecturers collaborate with academic and clinical educators in the development of their students’ communication skills.
We also provide professional education for placement educators working with students who have English as an additional language (EAL) through our COHPE Health Educator Program (CHEP) workshops, our partnership with the Monash Centre for Scholarship in Health Education (MCSHE), and through our online learning resources.

COPHE Health Educator Program (CHEP) for Monash University Industry Partners

Would you like to enhance your approach to supervision of students from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds?
Much like Australia’s health workforce and the wider community, our faculty has a large and diverse cohort of students from a variety of language and cultural backgrounds. CHEP provides clinical educators from a range of health disciplines with a unique opportunity to further explore their understanding and practices in working with a diverse student cohort. CHEP’s free interactive training program introduces effective tools to recognise social and cultural assumptions, understand student perspectives, and use specific teaching techniques to overcome communication challenges.
Who is eligible for CHEP?
CHEP is available to health educators from Monash University industry partners.
