At the core of this program is the completion of your research thesis on an agreed topic under the guidance of a supervisory team. Your research training is further enhanced by the Monash Doctoral Program, which provides professional development activities or coursework designed to support you in your academic and professional development.
To complement your research project and doctoral thesis, Monash Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences also provides additional unique training structures through one of our programs:
Professional Doctorate
Doctor of Philosophy (Clinical Psychology)
Upon completion of this degree, you will be eligible for full registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and an area of practice endorsement in Clinical Psychology following the completion of 2250 hours of a Board approved registrar

- Domestic applicants: 1 October

Doctor of Philosophy (Clinical Neuropsychology)
Upon degree completion, you will be eligible for full registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, and an area of practice endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology following completion of the two-year registrar program.

Graduate Research Industry Partnerships (GRIPs)
GRIPs bring together graduate researchers (PhD students) and academic leaders from various fields with industry partners to explore issues of global significance and solve real-world problems. Students will benefit from professional development programs co-designed and delivered with external organisations such as government bodies, health/medical institutions and private companies, as well as expert supervision from both Monash academics and industry specialists.

Joint PhD Programs
Students in these programs undertake graduate research at both Monash University and an overseas partner university. You will receive guidance and academic support from expert researchers from both universities as well as having access to their resources and facilities. This is an excellent opportunity if you are passionate about working collaboratively and building your international network.
