Starting university is an exciting step. This page is your guide to getting set up with confidence. From understanding key terms, enrolling in units and building your timetable to preparing for Orientation, you’ll find everything you need here to hit the ground running.
Before enrolling, decide which units you’ll study. Some courses are made up entirely of core units, while others include electives. Use the resources below to guide your choices, and check the indicative time commitments so select the right units for your enrolment.

Course progression maps provide you with a visual outline of your entire course, showing you the units you’ll need to complete to get your qualification.
The Handbook is published annually and contains all your course requirements. These include:
To complete your course and to graduate, you need to meet all the requirements for your course set out in the Handbook.
Once you’ve checked your course requirements in the Handbook, use the current Handbook to find units for your course. The current Handbook lists the units that are available, which campuses they are taught at, and the teaching periods they’re available in.
To get an idea of what your schedule might look like, you can view past unit timetables here.
You can check how each unit is delivered (on campus, online, flexible, blended, or immersive) in the Handbook. If more than one option is offered, you’ll be able to choose your preferred mode when you enrol or re-enrol.
Tip: Always check the Handbook carefully so you know what to expect before enrolling. It’ll help you plan your time and balance uni.
