How to apply
Step 1: Check your eligibility
Before applying for a research degree in Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, you must check your eligibility for the proposed course on the Monash Graduate Research Office website.
Step 2: Find a supervisor and Complete an Expression of Interest Form
Investigate your many research options in Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences to identify a potential supervisor and research project. Review the research the Faculty offers at Supervisor Connect. You may also contact the individual schools, departments and institutes for advice. To obtain an Invitation to Apply, please complete the Express of Interest (EOI) Form. This form should be endorsed by your prospective supervisor prior to submitting the on-line application.
The Faculty does not have a deadline for obtaining in principle support from a supervisor, however if you are applying for a scholarship you should allow plenty of time to have that discussion with the potential supervisor and gain their support.
Research degree applicants must identify an area of research and receive in principle support from a supervisor that they are willing to supervise the project. PhD (Clinical Psychology) and PhD (Clinical Neuropsychology) applicants do not need to find a supervisor or list a project proposal prior to submitting an application. Please read the application information that the School of Psychological Sciences provides.
Step 3: Apply for a course and scholarship
Both Domestic and International applicants can use the same form to apply.
Please refer to the Step-by-step application guideline to assist you with your online application.
Applications may be made at any time throughout the year. However, please note the application deadlines for the Monash University Graduate Research Scholarships, i.e. 31 March and 31 August for international applicants, 31 May and 31 October for domestic applicants.
