Program Description (AHEGS):

Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences students enrolled in this program design and participate in voluntary workplace experience that broadens personal and professional perspectives on social issues in the context of health services. Student participation develops skills that enhance employability: communication, teamwork, leadership, appreciation of cultural diversity and problem solving. They will also gain an understanding of the workplace culture and multidisciplinary team environments. Enrolled students have participated in diverse activities including health service delivery in remote Australia, working with local NGOs, and delivering health services overseas.

Program Information:
This program is a reciprocal study tour to Chiba University, Tokyo, Japan. Hosted by the Chiba University: a top national university renowned for its leadership in health sciences, engineering, and disaster resilience, this immersive program offers a rare opportunity to explore crucial global issues: Health ageing, social inclusion and disaster preparedness.

Students will collaborate alongside Japanese students in an interprofessional environment, exchanging ideas and approaches across diverse areas of interest. This immersive learning experience will take place at Chiba University's campus, just outside Tokyo, and through local field visits and hands-on activities designed to challenge your thinking, build your cultural capabilities, and expand your global perspective.

Degree/Disciplines: Must be currently enrolled in an MNHS or Pharmacy undergraduate degree.

Duration: 2 weeks

Dates: Summer A, 15/11/2026 - 26/11/2026

Selection criteria: Selected students need to have completed 48 credit points at the time of application (undergraduate), a minimum WAM 70%, exemplary professionalism track-record. Further selection criteria may apply.
