Bachelor of Psychology (Honours)
With a keen interest in neuroscience, psychology student Cassandra Kennedy is uncovering the intricate workings of the human brain. Choosing to pursue her passion at Monash, Cassie felt the rigorous scientific basis of the units offered, as well as the inclusion of honours within the degree is what sets it apart from many of the other psychology courses available.
A strong sense of community, faculty support and internship opportunities are just a few of the benefits Cassie has enjoyed from her time at Monash so far. Studying as part of a smaller cohort, she reflects “it has been great to get to know students with similar interests and goals.”
One of Cassie’s highlights has been successfully securing an internship at the Monash-Epworth Rehabilitation Research Centre. “This opportunity has meant that I have been able to gain skills and experience while seeing the real world applications of my degree!”
With this academic grounding and hands-on experience providing the “perfect basis”, Cassie will be ready to work towards her dream career as a Clinical Neuropsychologist, after completing her honours and additional postgraduate training in the future.
Recently elected president of the Students’ Neuroscience and Psychology Society (SNAPS), Cassie now plays an important role in our psychology community on campus. She arranges revision lectures, social nights and career events to connect fellow psychology students with networking and development opportunities.
Encouraging those with a passion for understanding the human brain and mind to consider studying psychology at Monash, Cassie enthuses “it's a fantastic opportunity, go for it!”
