SiSU Health Stations and FREE staff health checks

What is the Sisu health station?

Spring into Self-Cafe with the SiSU Health Station program

The SiSU Health Station (provided by the Digital Health Tech company, founded in 2014), is a fully independent Medical Grade health check machine. It allows anyone from the community, staff and students, to engage, with top screen messaging and guidance for the 4minute journey. Once users complete their assessment, the full report is sent to them via email (which is requested at the beginning of the health check).

The SiSU health station will give data on:

  • Height (+/- 0.2cm up to 200cm)
  • Weight (+/- 200g up to 250kg)
  • BMI
  • Body composition (% body fat)
  • BP (+/- 3mmHg)
  • Heart rate
  • Smoking status
  • Type 2 Diabetes Risk (AUSDRISK)
  • Stress test
  • Heart Age (SiSU Change Solution)
  • Daily Energy Use (SiSU Change Solution)

In 2025, we will bring 9 more SiSU Health Stations to Monash Locations to help staff check their health status and start their journey toward control of their own health. To accompany this month-long program, staff can also book in a FREE health consultation with a nutritionist or a sleep expert to discuss their personal health concerns over a 15min virtual consultation.

Our qualified nutritionists assess your current nutritional status and provide you with advice and suggestions on improvement. These one-on-one consultations run for 15-minutes will be delivered virtually.

SLEEP CONSULTATIONS

Almost 60% of Australian adults have trouble sleeping. Sleep deprivation and sleep disruption have a direct impact on mood, motivation, concentration, food choices and mental health. Healthworks sleep consultations provide advice on specific changes to daily habits, exercise, diet and nighttime routines that will improve the quantity and quality of sleep. These one-on-one consultations run for 15-minutes and will be delivered virtually.

What happens during a sleep consultation?

Sleep consultations are designed to improve the quality and quantity of sleep for each participant. Prior to the session individuals will be invited to complete a sleep questionnaire which will assist in identifying sleep disorders and contributing factors to insomnia. Participants will receive education on the importance of sleep and the consequences of not getting enough. They will also be provided with advice on specific changes to daily habits, exercise, diet and night-time routine that will improve sleep.

Who will conduct the sleep consultation?

Sleep consultations are conducted by our team of Health Professionals and Sleep Scientists. These consultations will empower you to take positive steps to improve their sleep, and to develop strategies to promote optimal sleep habits.

Referral for further assessment

Participants identified through the consultations as needing additional investigations or assessment will be referred to an appropriate health professional including their GP and psychologist. Common reasons for referral include: a sleep study to investigate obstructive sleep apnoea, a sleep psychologist for chronic insomnia and further investigations for fatigue. The company will receive a summary report highlighting attendance, no-shows, priority areas and number of referrals identified from the consultations.
