Psychosocial health and safety at Monash
Monash is committed to providing a safe, healthy and respectful working environment for all staff.
This includes identifying, assessing and managingpsychosocial hazards that may arise from the way work is designed, organised, managed or carried out.
From 1 December 2025, new Victorian occupational health and safety regulations require employers to take a more structured and proactive approach to managing psychosocial risks at work. Monash is actively preparing to meet these requirements and to strengthen our existing focus on psychological health and wellbeing.
Our commitment
Monash recognises that psychologically healthy work is created through:
- Good job design
- Respectful and inclusive behaviours
- Strong leadership and systems
- Early identification and management of risk
Managing psychosocial health and safety is a shared responsibility, supported by clear systems, consultation and continuous improvement.
