Immunisations
All adults in the Australian community are encouraged to maintain immunity to tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, polio, measles and mumps. Sometimes you may also have additional immunisation requirements for your role at Monash (for example, if you work with biological matter, animals or are a first aider).
If you haven’t already, it’s a good idea to discuss your immunisation status with your doctor. You can also check your immunisation status in your My Health Record.
Immunisation requirements
Before working with any biological matter, or as soon as you finish your first aid training, you should make sure that you’re immunised against hepatitis B, as well as any additional immunisations recommended for working with animals or as a first aider at Monash.
Arranging immunisations
The universal immunisation form combines all immunisation forms. Once completed, email it to BPD-OHNC@monash.edu to arrange your immunisation.
Check your requirements
The Immunisation Grid shows the immunisations recommended depending on your work activity, job title and risk source.
Need help?
Contact the Health Safety and Wellbeing team if:
- you're unsure about your immunisation requirements
- you're working with an uncommon organism or animal not listed
- your working conditions aren’t covered in the grid
- your risk assessment suggests additional immunisations may be needed.
