Walk, run or ride in October to keep our Flying Doctors flying
Access to reliable healthcare is something many of us take for granted. But for people in remote, rural and regional areas, it’s not always within reach. In an emergency, time is critical. It can mean the difference between life and death.
This October, Monash University staff and students are welcome to join the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Oceans to Outback challenge - a month-long challenge which invites participants to walk, run or ride, to help boost their own physical wellbeing, while raising funds for the Royal Flying Doctors.
The RFDS have run this challenge for the last 5 years, and have since raised $13.9M. That has meant 108,013 patients transported, 2,370 medical chests around Australia, 179,998 remote telehealth consultations, all adding up to 36x to the moon and back kilometers travelled by our amazing flying doctors.

How it works

Registration is FREE, and you can sign up as an individual or as a team with friends or colleagues. Log your activity during the month of October and follow your virtual journey to RFDS locations around Australia.
Share your participation with friends and family, and raise funds for this valuable cause.
