Celebrating our top-performing students at the 2025 Medicine Awards

Sophie Davis Memorial Prize winners - Daniel Ameen, Amara Vivekanantham, Ethan Prabaharan

Our high-achieving medicine students were celebrated at the 2025 Medicine Awards, held at the Monash Clayton campus last week and hosted by Deputy Dean of Medicine Professor Michelle Leech AM. Students were awarded across 42 categories for a wide range of achievements, including scoring the highest overall subject marks, making humanitarian contributions and providing support to their fellow medicine students.

The Sophie Davis Memorial Prize, awarded annually to the student who attained the highest overall marks in the medicine degree, was awarded to three students - Daniel Ameen, Amara Vivekanantham and Ethan Prabaharan. Sophie Davis’s son and grandson, Dr Alan Davis and Mark Davis, attended the ceremony to present the award.

Deputy Dean of Medicine, Professor Michelle Leech AM, congratulated the students. “On behalf of the Monash Medical School and the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, I am absolutely delighted to congratulate each and every one of you on your awards. To achieve this in a cohort of medical students is remarkable,” she said. “We hope that this prize and recognition may help you in your future career and we hope that you stay connected to the Monash Medical School and continue to inspire future generations of Monash doctors.”

Thank you to our generous prize sponsors who make these awards possible. Our prize winners and sponsors include:
