Professor Katrina Williams joins distinguished ranks of international autism research fellows

In a significant recognition of her career-long dedication to the autism community, Professor Katrina Williams, Head of the Department of Paediatrics, School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health and Paediatrician at Monash Children’s Hospital was named INSAR (International Society for Autism Research) Fellow! One of the highest honours in the field, Professor Williams received the award at the 2026 INSAR Annual Conference in Prague.

The Fellowship Program recognises her sustained international impact on autism research, clinical practice, educational methods and policy. Selected by her peers, Professor Williams is celebrated for her outstanding leadership and "INSAR citizenship" within the global autism community. We are delighted to see her years of hard work recognised on this world stage.

Dr Alexandra Ure, Associate Professor, Paediatrics, School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health shared her congratulations. “This is such a special and well-deserved recognition. Professor Williams is not only an outstanding scientist and clinician, but also a deeply respected leader, mentor and cherished colleague within Monash University Paediatrics and Monash Health,” she said. “Her work, grounded in care, rigour and genuine partnership with autistic people and families, has shaped the field in ways that truly matter. Congratulations Katrina for your continued advancement of autism research, understanding and impact worldwide”.
