Mental health and wellbeing

The journey through a graduate research degree can be highly rewarding and intellectually stimulating but it can also be emotionally and mentally demanding. Graduate research  students often face unique challenges such as long hours, high expectations, isolation, and uncertainty about their future career paths, which can contribute to stress, anxiety, and burnout

The Faculty places great importance on supporting the mental health and wellbeing of graduate research students. Monash University offers a range of resources specifically for graduate research students. To complement this and further support students, the Faculty also offers a range of initiatives such as a personal mental health and wellbeing plan (MNHS myWellbeing Plan), a MNHS Graduate Research Survive and Thrive seminar series and MNHS Wellbeing Grants.
