MNHS Graduate Research Mental Health and Wellbeing Support
At the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (MNHS), we recognise that supporting mental health and wellbeing is essential for success in graduate research. Balancing academic demands with personal wellbeing is not just important - it’s foundational to long-term success. That’s why we are committed to creating a supportive, inclusive environment where mental health is prioritised and help is always within reach. Through a range of dedicated services, peer networks, and wellbeing initiatives, we empower our graduate research students to build resilience, manage stress, and foster a healthy work-life balance. Whether facing the pressures of research or navigating personal challenges, students have access to resources that promote wellbeing and a strong sense of community.
MNHS Graduate Research Mental Health & Wellbeing website
To make accessing support easier, MNHS offers the Graduate Research Mental Health & Wellbeing website - a centralised hub for all mental health and wellbeing resources available at Monash University, as well as links to national services. From access to the Monash Counselling and Psychological Services to emergency and after-hours support, students can quickly find the help they need, when they need it.
MNHS Graduate Research Survive & Thrive Seminar Series
Graduate Research can be challenging and students don’t need to navigate this alone. MNHS hosts the Survive & Thrive Seminar Series - a dynamic online program designed to boost your wellbeing literacy and support your mental health journey. Delivered by experts from within and beyond the University, these seminars explore key topics in mental health, offering practical insights and strategies to support students throughout their research journey.
MNHS Graduate Research Wellbeing Grant
Building strong social and academic connections is vital to student wellbeing. The MNHS Graduate Research Wellbeing Grant supports student-led initiatives that promote mental health awareness and foster community. These grants enable students to organise social and wellbeing-focused events, helping to strengthen peer networks and create a more connected, supportive research culture.
