Audience Research, Audience Tune-Out
a phenomenon which occurs when relatively large groups of a radio or TV audience drop concentration, or stop listening altogether, for a period; audience tune-out may result from high clutter levels of commercial advertising or station or channel promotions in the non-programming time.
