Dark Social is a phrase coined by Alexis Madrigal that refers to web that originated from the share of a URL but is marked as direct traffic in analytic tools. It is estimated that over 70% of social sharing is dark, over 50% of your social traffic is dark, and over 50% of your social sales are dark.
